1. A vibrant, yet powerfully controlled industrial district was hit by a devastating earthquake. Very few facilities remained with the exception of various warehouses, docks, and factory complexes. Saijo City is divided into two distinct parts by the fault zone which is clearly visible at the middle of the city. The combination of building ruins, chemical spills and fire, have left the area clinically inhabitable, yet due to the immsense size of the city population, many continue to find refuge there, as a place of residence and business. Somewhat lawless, local corporations' security forces maintain protection around various self-imposed borders.

2. A second powerful earthquake affected the northern part of Saijo City, unlike the previous tectonic activity, this earthquake ran north-south along a previously quiet fault line. After an attempt to rehabilitate the area, this earthquake cause considerable damage to places which had been constructed/rebuilt to avoid the fault zone that caused damage previously. Destroyed in this earthquake were the three following locations/structures: The popular night spot Club 2025, which existed at the southwest corner of the Hollow Point district (believed to be the epicenter of the quake); the Brunswick Air Processing Facility, )while not destroyed initially by the earthquake, the massive size of the structure caused significant portions to collapse over time. During the earthquake, large storage containers of processed oxygen had fallen to the ground below, causing widespread fire damage); and finally the Delta del Norte commercial fishery, which sat at northern waterfront near the base of the Delta Del Norte Bridge, which sustained minimal damage from the quake.
