I will go back and edit this post, but for brevity, Spin Martin is a New Journalist with the KBI (KSSX BROADCASTING INTERNATIONAL). Much of common knowledge and lore is delivered through his point of view as narrator, but then again, if the shoe fits, heh ;)

He is one of the four main characters in the official lore.
